Working with me is pretty straightforward: whatever you need to do is what we will do. If you’re not yet sure what that is, that’s ok, too. I mainly operate from a solution-focused realm where we can collaborate on how to get you functioning in a realistically better place.

I don’t believe therapy is a magic wand that one waves over a client where you don’t know what’s going on. You’re the expert on your own life, culture, and existence. I’m here to support that because your lived experience is what matters. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but have spent most of my counseling-related career working outside the United States. All counseling is cross-cultural, but a lot of my experience has been with immigrants, people who are making big life transitions, and disabled people. I have a master's degree from Bellevue University in Clinical Counseling and Leeds Beckett University (UK) in Psychology, but my original area is Geography. I taught social and cultural diversity for several years. Using a multicultural view, in all its forms, is important to me and central to my work. Unfortunately, conversations about multiculturalism and diversity often leave out disability.

I primarily specialize in working with disabled and chronically ill clients because I am also a member of this community. This shared experience lets us skip the step of feeling like you have to explain and justify your conditions and experience because I’ve been there too. Sometimes the way therapy is typically done doesn’t apply to being disabled or chronically ill - we will make it fit for you.
